2012 – Doctoral dissertation in archaeology at the Humboldt University of Berlin (HU-Berlin) “Knife-daggers in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. Typological and chronological analysis of knife-daggers of the Great Migration period ” (scientific supervisors: professor J. Callmer (HU-Berlin) / professor C. von Carnap-Bornheim (CAU Kiel) / professor, full member of RAS and vice-president of RAS N.A. Makarov).

  • archaeology of Iron Age in Central and Northern Europe, Baltics and European part of Russia;
  • military archaeology, weapons and armament;
  • beliefs, warrior cults and iconography of the Baltic, Finno-Ugrian and Germanic tribes in the 1st millennium AD;
  • social stratigraphy of the Baltic and Germanic tribes of the Baltic region in the 1st millennium A.D.;
  • archaeology of the Kaliningrad region in the era of Roman influence, Great Migration period and Early Middle Ages;
  • prewar archaeology and reconstruction of the prewar state of research in the former East Prussia;
  • archaeological legacy of the East Prussian researchers and prewar research institutions and museums.

 

Current research projects

Scientific member in the international research project “Continuity of research and research of continuity. Basic research on settlement archaeology of the Iron Age in the Baltic region” (www.akademieprojekt-baltikum.eu)
